The Cincinnati Museum of History is an open-air museum in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. It opened in 1990 at the Cincinnati Museum Center in Union Terminal. The museum displays the Cincinnati Public Landing residence from the mid-1860s and exhibits Cincinnati’s role in World War II. Cincinnati In Motion represents downtown Cincinnati in the 1940s with cars in action. The Cincinnati Art Museum is located in Union Terminal, a historic Art Deco train station, and National Historic Landmark. The significant museums offered at Union Terminal include the Cincinnati History Museum, the Cincinnati History Library and Archives, the Children’s Museum, the Natural History and Science Museum, and the Robert D. Lindner Family OMNIMAX® Cinema. The museum is Cincinnati’s premier cultural institution, with more than 1.4 million visitors annually. Our permanent and temporary exhibitions are sponsored and supported by the Collections and Research Center, the Geier Collections and Research Center, educational programs, professional development programs for teachers, day and night camps, lectures, and public events. Cincinnati in Motion
Cincinnati in Motion, one of Cincinnati’s most beloved historic art galleries, is back in a fresh and new space. The main exhibit is now open, featuring the Ohio River in downtown Cincinnati, with additional displays opening in 2020. The renovated gallery will provide a welcoming and exciting introduction to the Cincinnati History Museum, using a clean and restored S-track train model, new lighting, new sound, and other opportunities to interact with historical content and updates.
