Hyde Park is an affluent neighborhood on the east of Cincinnati, Ohio. Its population is 14,193 in the 2020 census. It is located on the east side of Cincinnati, about ten miles from downtown Cincinnati. Many neighborhoods are located between Interstate 71 and the Ohio River. At the center of the center is Hyde Park Square, located in a 2-block area of Erie Avenue bounded by Edwards Road on the west side and Michigan Avenue on the east side. The bar has a park in the middle, surrounded by shops and restaurants. Its centerpiece is the Kilgour Fountain, which has a statue of a woman in a cloth with a water fountain. John and Charles Kilgour donated it in 1900. Graeter’s Ice Cream Parlor has been in Hyde Park Square since 1938.

Hyde Park originally consisted of a suburban area with a few houses until 1885, when the Norfolk and Western Railway connected it to Cincinnati, OH in 1872. Soon, the population began to increase. In 1892, several prominent Cincinnati business people, commonly known as the Mornington Syndicate, focused on the city’s new transportation system and purchased much of the land to create a community exclusively for Cincinnati’s wealthy, sold to residents who met those standards. In 1896, Hyde Park was incorporated and named after the wealthy town of Hyde Park in New York.
